Elango Kathirvel

Elango Kathirvel is Renovaro Biosciences’ Director of Analytical Development, and has over ten years of Quality Control, Analytical development, and GMP experience in the pharmaceutical industry and twenty years of research and development at various academic institutes. Dr. Kathirvel received his Ph.D. in biology in 2004 from the University of Madras, India, and received the Young Scientist Award from the Indian Science Congress for his PhD research. Dr. Kathirvel is a recipient of the Henry M Jackson Foundation fellowship for Advancement in Military Medicine and worked at the Naval Medical Research Center, Silver Spring, on proteomics of infectious disease agents. Dr. Kathirvel continued his research in cell signaling in insulin resistance and glucose disposal at the Veterans Administration Health Care System, Long Beach, and the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Kathirvel has about seven years of experience in animal studies and has served on institutional animal committees. Dr. Kathirvel joined the QC department at Pharmavite as a lead scientist and worked on analytical test development, especially on qualifying USP tests for quality control testing. Dr. Kathirvel, as Principal Scientist at Nitto Avecia Pharma Services, lead the development and validation of various analytical methods for clients like Pfizer, Regeneron, Kite Pharma, and Allogene.
